Mar 31 2020 Measures against COVID-19
Once the Government has announced, as a measure in the fight against COVID-19, the cessation of all non-essential activity until April 9th, and since GAP Fruits complies with the assumptions to continue supplying concentrates and NFC for the proper development of our essential companies, we will remain open until further orders, to continue serving these industries.
We take the opportunity to communicate that our usual communication channels are still operating, as well as our website www.gapfruits.com and that our facilities in Madrigueras (Albacete) will continue to operate during these two weeks.
Much encouragement to all.

Mar 20 2020 Will it be changes?
At a time when we are looking at international movements, with closed borders, companies with telecommuting and alarming news in some areas, we have to calculate the exports we have had so far and where we want to go. It is true that the internal consumption of fruits and nectars has decreased, which is also probably due to the lack of knowledge of the final consumer of the product, as it does not know how to difference, or cannot in some cases, if the product is fruit juice or juice made from concentrate or nectar. The demand does not vary in terms of the most successful ones, which are orange, pineapple and peach, and the apple and tomato are two products on the rise.
Even so, the average consumption of juices and nectars in Spain, exceeds the average in Europe, only behind Central European countries, above all, where awareness of the recommended consumption of fresh fruit is more developed. The benefits of this to obtain antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, water or fiber are widely known; that is, to achieve a healthy and balanced diet, but it is in countries such as China, Brazil and all of Europe, where more than half of world production is consumed.
On the other hand, Spain leads exports nowadays. We are the ones who best take advantage of crops in the Mediterranean and even in the north hemisphere, with more production and more sales than any other market. The great competitions are found in Morocco, South Africa, Egypt, Turkey, the United States and China. Countries like Japan and North Africa will probably have a growth in their foreign shipments.
Our production processes are high, but the European consumer requests a higher quality, so that our fresh product, with great variety and a strategic geographical situation, favors us. The Netherlands, on the other hand, which makes a large number of imports, are mostly for re-export, which offers us another great advantage for mobilization in Europe.
Citrus fruits are our star products, being the sixth largest producer in the world, despite the great competences that do not stop appearing in fruits such as oranges, lemons and mandarins. The mandarin is sold almost all from China, but we will see how it is affected by the latest events.
Mainly, there should not be major changes for our exports, as the destinations of national products are to Germany, France and United Kingdom, having as one of the main competitors, Italy, with a poor export forecast.
It is time to offer output to countries such as Poland, Czech Republic, Russia and other countries in northern Europe, taking advantage of the space left by China and Italy.
